Ismael, The white looks real good. Looking forward to seeing how the Blue comes out, and how all 3 colors look with the 2 part shell together. Joel

Hello, Whoever came up with this scheme was definitely not thinking on building a scale model of it Lots of fun masking.... I hope to paint the Competition Blue this week. Due to the masking complexity I'm considering NOT masking the white in the front hood vents and rather mask the blue and paint the white later on. Thanks, Ismael

Hello, They say you need to face your fears head on. Well, I've always feared decals. I used to hate decals. I consider decals to be my weakest point in this hobby. but since I like race cars I have to suck it up and face it like a... a... whatever. This will take about 2 eternities. This is over an hour of work. There are 3 decals here, but not what you think. This was all one decal. But the "Powered by" script was touching the black letters. So I had to surgically separate them. Then the tiny little Registered logo (R) was missing and it was taken from the kit's decal set. These are not the kit's decals. These are from the mysterious aftermarket set. The kit's decals are really good, but these are very thin and fragile. Taking my time with these. Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, Funny thing, but decaling is my favorite part of the build. I find it relaxing and I can generally replace any decal that I screwed up. Those decals all look like they were painted on. Excellent job. I never measure my success by how little time it to apply them. It's the end results that count.

Decals are one of my favorite parts of modeling, too. It's the point where the model starts to really come alive. Seat belts are the things I hate.
Ismael, your Ford is looking great!

Hello, I would say I am about 20% done on this decal job. Still pending one or two smaller bits on this side, replicating the other side, all the decals in the red part of the body, decals on the black areas, rear wing etc. Neither the kit's decals nor the aftermarket set is completely accurate. I have mixed and matched from both sets but in general the decals are over or undersized. The big green square in the hood where the number goes is too big. The white stripe continuation on top of that is missing in both sets. I adapted it from the kit's extra numbers. The EcoBoost decals for the front corner were WAY too small. I used the leftover door scripts from the kit's decal sheet but it is still a tad undersized. The red at the front corner had to be trimmed to fit. The emergency master electrical shutoff and extinguisher decals are oversized. Anyways, it is slowly but surely progressing. Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, The decaling is coming along quite nicely. Unfortunately, I've run into wrong size decals every so often, and most of the time I had to live with them if the kit sheet didn't have what I was looking for.

Hi Joel, I've been mixing and matching both sets and "re-purpose" some of them. In the past I have done my own missing decals in other projects but I'm trying to avoid it this time. Overall it is looking good, but I can be very anal retentive when it comes to accuracy and absolute replication. I've even tried to replicate specific scrapes and damages in weathered cars. I need to remind myself this is a hobby. Nothing is going to happen if it is a millimeter off... or does it? I've never claimed to be normal. Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, Your attention to the last detail is so much more focused them mine these days. The end results will surely show it as a show stopper. Joel

Hello, "I think I'm done with the body decals." I have said that 3 times already and find out "Ohh wait, I'm missing this little one." Let them fully dry before facing my next fear, clearing over decals. Slowly but surely progressing. Thanks, Ismael

No pictures today but I finally did the clearcoating. Will let it sit and check if more is needed, but it looks good so far.
Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, Now that's impressive for sure. I'm sure that your clear coating went just fine, especially for someone at your level of model building.
