I just ordered one, it should have arrived today. $135.00 CDN, taxes incl., so you should be able to beat your $125 US. Andy's Hobby HQ in Arizona has them listed for $99.99. Chris at UpScale Model is selling his for $179.99. REally weird how the prices are all over the place. I'm getting mine virtually for free because I am buying the KA Upgrade and the GY tyres and a sheet of Best Balsa decals for $375. The kit is there as well but it is virtually nothing! Merry Christmas, Paul. And all the rest here on the board!

Model Car World makes the colors. 1oz bottles run $7.50. Lacuqer and enamals, pre-thinned for airbrushing. The Blue is Arcadia Blue for the #1 Miles car at LeMans. Car #3 was Rangoon Red. Both are Ford Factory Colors., All of the Shelby American and Hollman Moody cars were painted with colors used on Mustangs: Rangoon Red, Arcadia Blue; Acapulco Blue; Sliver Frost; Emberglow; Sauterine Gold; Raven Black; & Bright Yellow. Is the red on the #1 car the Rangoon Red? And did you mean Arcadian Blue? The red on the nose flash used on Race Day is Florescent Red. All of the ID patches used were Florescent colors. Car #1, Arcadian Blue/Florescent Red, #6 Acapulco Blue/ Flo. Yellow; #5 was Flo. Pink/ Saturine Gold with a very fine white pin stripping separating the two. Car #4 Was Emberglow/Flo. Green

I ordered a Magnifer kit (I already have a Trumpeter one) but I figured they would be two for the price of one compared to the MENG one which is supposed to be $300 or more and the reviews are just okay. There’s a resin conversion kit to do the Daytona version also on Ebay with the parts and decals.

There’s a resin conversion kit to do the Daytona version also on Ebay with the parts and decals. I'm hearing there are two MENG kits... one pre-painted, which will go for more than $400 USD (according to one source in Arizona) and an unpainted that will be substantially less. The main difference between the Magnifier kit and the Trumpeter (as far as everything I have read) is that Magnifier did not have the licensing from Ford so that name or badge does not appear in the Magnifier kit. But I am hearing the Magnifier has decals for both the #1 and #2 car which the Trumpeter did not! Also the Magnifier is all over the board as far as price. Andy's Hobby Headquarters has it for $99.99, HobbyLinc has it for $117.99 and UpScale Hobbies has it for $179.99. That is a crazy price range for the same kit! Hope you are having a great holiday!

the decals from magnifier have a black outline on all the decals and like you said about the Ford licensing, the decals from Magnifier kit have the FORD logo on stripes as seperate letters. that would be a pain to line up. Decals from same e-bay seller has this sheet (lower decal) with FORD logo already on stripe and number looks wider. i went with the standard KA upgrade and tire upgrade. i like the idea of a solid tire. i have some 1/12 GMP diecast and rubber tires flatten out over time if displayed. the Magnifier kit does have foam inserts for tires and maybe that is enough to solve problem.

I ordered two sets of decals today from IndyCals.net. If anyone will do them correctly, it will be Michael! I also ordered paint from MCW. THere is a lot of debate about the red color but I am going to see if the Rangoon red will work. It's hard to tell... but I know one thing for sure... they damn sure aren't orange!

There should be no debate, as I contacted the Henry Ford about the colors. They are my source. Unless they have it wrong (and it's possible), any other information is "questionable".

Per The Ford that Beat Ferrari p. 116 John Holman sent his son Lee into the city of Lemans to buy some Day-Glo paint - as they had used in Daytona. Number 1 was given red flashes, No. 4 green and No. 6 yellow.
