Wasn't happy with the header either. It's that have a crab looking think above the pulleys My take:

I created a recess in the firewall so I could set the engine back a little farther.

I'm currently trying to make this one, out of an 1/18 scale Kyosho diecast.
I saw him race it at Hallet Motor Speedway in Oklahoma.

I'm currently trying to make this one, out of an 1/18 scale Kyosho diecast. I saw him race it at Hallett Motor Speedway in Oklahoma. Interesting! What series was he competing in - SCCA? IMSA. www.racingsportscars.com/driver/archive/James-Brolin-USA.htmlApparently only ran it twice. I got to talk to him in the line to the Porta-John, car was an ex-rallye car, apparently didn't handle and down on power.

JC, I really like how you find these really cool kits and make them better. I'm floored how they molded that belt set up, but you made it right. Watching for more!

I had a 124 Spyder as my daily summer driver for a couple of years. Fun car, unfortunately they rust. This 131 is basically the sedan version of the same car, and given Abarth's treatment it would have been a blast. Nice to see a model being made of it.

Been reading this book. They indicate the 131 was down on power compared to it's competition, putting out 220 HP. The handling is what allowed it to compete and win (3) World Championships. Now that is all in the rally world, competing in IMSA on road courses is a different ball game. This was the first 131 Abarth built for Fiat, had a V6 in lieu of the twin-cam 4. Built for Gr.4 racing. 131abarth.com/031-abarth/
