Very nice work Paul! Not a subject you see built frequently.

Thank you everybody, your replies appreciated as always! It was a nice diversion from the Ligier from .....you know.
Joel, decals are not my favorite, but I'm even worse at 2 tone paint schemes. What I resorted to here was photocopying the decals, cutting out and installing the photocopies and masking off around them. As the car was painted white first, this was of course backwards. So I then masked off against the first set of masks, removed them, and painted the blue. That way the decals aligned properly with the painted parts when I finally installed them. Time consuming but it worked.
My next project will be ALL ONE COLOUR!!

Paul, it's the end results that count, and my friend, you just nailed it. Nothing wrong with masks and masking. I use them all the time.
A single color build with few if any decal may I add? How about a hint or two? Of course you'll be finishing up your Ligier 1st.

Gary, I'm right there with you. Got most of them and even AM decals and the proper paints, but some other model just catches my eye. After seeing Paul's outstanding build, I'm going to build one or two this year for sure.

Ismael, I was being more generic in terms of these type of kits I've bought but never built plus custom paints and AM decals

Thanks Joel! I asked because I built the mid 80's Corvette GTP (resin) about a decade ago and was wondering what others were out there.

At least Ford called it the Mustang GTP unlike the current Mustang Mach E which looks like a mistake in the design office! I could not agree with you more on that point! Cripes A Mighty, what is Ford thinking?! I'm not the most ardent fan of Mustangs but I do like them, they are sports cars not SUVs that look like they came from Tesla!

Jim, Great article. One of the reasons I decided on the 1984 7 11 car is that the kit most represents that car which was of the main points I got from reading your article.
As Chris mentioned, if you're building any IMSA cars or race cars, we sure like to follow those builds.
