In almost every factory photo of the DFV they use a Yellow w/ Black stripe Coil Wire so using all Yellow is not far from correct. Just thought I would point that one out!! Enjoy and Keep Up The Excellent Work! Chris

Some years back I had an entry in a "what if" category at a contest. It was a Porsche 962 as it raced at Daytona 24 hrs as a Richard Petty entry. Biggest complaint was that the red was wrong for R P.Who really cared as it wasn't a real car anyway.Big Laugh was that I had gotten the paint from Petty Racing. Big deal is ,If you want Yellow wires so be it!There is always someone to complain. Steve

Enjoy and Keep Up The Excellent Work! Chris Thanks for that excellent photo, Chris. I'm not worrying about it at all! Think of those people as the rivet counters of the automotive world... but think the really rich thing is, there are plenty of actual rivets to be counted on the MFH builds!

After three months, one late spring rainy month, an overgrown lawn, and a vacation to Ireland (always save the good stuff for last, my mother always told me...), I was able to get back to the McLaren. First of all, putting the interior into the tumbler AFTER epoxy gluing it together was not a good idea as it came apart but as with every dark cloud, there is a silver lining. I was able to reassemble it correctly this time with refinements and it closed almost all the gaps. Sometimes, you have to remove stuff that MFH put there because the pieces just don't make sense or they become an impediment! Second of all, and I am still learning this about MFH, not only are these really top end kits but they also have their own set of quirks, not the least of which is fit! In order to come out successful (and I am sure I am preaching to the choir), fit, test fit, bore out ALL the holes and make sure the screws go in as they should! Sometimes, you find out just what was holding that piece from fitting. Third, and maybe most importantly, I need to constantly tell myself to slow down unless I want a $550 piece of crap model! Just some photos. It doesn't like much more than fitting pieces together but it does tell me there is a very big gap issue to be address between the side pods and the cowling. Any suggestions? I did notice that since there is no really appreciable details inside the monocoque, and the motor brackets attach with rivets, I probably will be safe gluing the cowling on permanently. As always your thoughts and comments are welcome!

Patrick, Nice start to the M19A. I'll be following your build as well. For some reason I thought that you'd be posting with Chris and Paul's builds.

But I started my thread before Paul and Chris started their builds, so... Thank you. I hope to have more time as the summer progresses and the weeds die. LOL!

Patrick, Gotta go on weed patrol myself. But right now we're under a air quality alert as the as the smoke from the forest fires in Eastern Canada have now made it down past Long Island and New Jersey. The sky looks really weird as we've never seen this before to this extent.

So it looks as though I will be very carefully disassembling the front suspension as something appears to be wrong. The uppers stick up way high above the frame itself. Not quite the effect since it gets covered flush with a body panel. Not sure what I did incorrectly but I have an idea of how to fix it. Just getting it back apart will be interesting.

If you used CA, soak it in acetone, you’ll have to re spray everything .

They're fired! Turns out to be an easy fix. How are you doing?

After untold hours (I seriously couldn't estimate), this is the progress on my 1/12th McLaren M19A. I have to fabricate an upper suspension connecting rod for the rear end and need to order some custom cast fittings. So next up, I guess is to start drilling rivet holes where necessary. I have made the decision to put in rivets on the body panels which requires only, oh say, 500+ holes! Thanks for looking! As always, your comments and criticisms are welcome!

Patrick, Outstanding progress for sure on those subassemblies. Was the suspension connecting rod missing that you have to fabricate one, or more like a Joel screw up? joel
