My current project is an attempt to build the third place car from the '69 LeMans race, GT40 chassis 1076.
Going to post this an see if I know how to post a thread.

Okay, that worked, here is some more....
The scale will be 1/24th and the Fujimi boxing will be the starting point...
This kit has a pretty accurate body for the '69 car but not much else will be used.
I did find some wheels and tires from 'Lemans Miniatures' out of France that are correct for my car...
Chassis 1076 was a pretty standard Mk 1 tub produced by Abby Panels in 1968 and delivered to J.W. Automotive for completion.
Ref pics of the chassis under going restoration (Racing Icons)

Hi Ed, Good to see you here and Thank you !!
Will attempt to load a bunch of pics...
Using these sites for most of my online reference....
www.racingicons.com These guys did the actual restoration of my car and several other GT40's with good pics.
www.gelscoemotorsport.com These guys did a build blog of recreating chassis P1076, most of my chassis construction came from this site.
www.cushmancompetition.com These guys have the parts catalog for the GT40 road car online, a lot of this applies to my build.
The 1968 version of the Mk 1 tub features the crossover pipe connecting the two fuel pods in the side with a single fill cap. Seat framing...
Shifter and linkage..

There are a lot of great builders on this and other forums. However I haven't seen one that equals your level of detail and functionality Randy. Awesome work as always.

Yes, his work makes me think if fine Swiss watch makers of old.
The cool thing I am finding out about this hobby is that the skills translate over to other fields.
All in all, full circle.

See this made me get back to work on my long standing 1/16 Alan Mann AMR GT40 01/02 Build, I did a bunch of body work as the side vents are very different. I am using the same factory drawings to scratchbuild mine in 1/16 only out of styrene not brass. Really great stuff Randy keep the pics coming and I will try to get mine updated too... Chris
