Cool! I have an old builtup on my display case. As I said in the thread on the Honda F1 build,I Tech Inspected the Porsche USA works team 914s back in the day. Team Manager Richie Ginther was pleasant to deal with as were drivers Alan Johnson and Elliot Forbes Robinson. Alan gave me a copy of his book "Driving in Competition" when it came out. It had a picture of the 914-6 number 1 on the original cover (the later edition has other newer race cars on them). Driving In Competition - Alan-JohnsonI also have worked on building a full scale 914-6 race car. I have some pics of it showing the work I did building the cage structure from front bumper almost to rear bumper. Not much in the way of detail shots of it though: But my pics MAY help some others in seeing inner structure. I'll look forward to seeing what you developed.

Were you building a specific car JC? The car I worked on used the Porsche factory 916 (Porsche's designation for the 6 cylinder GT race car) fender flares The round tops on the flares you're creating suggest that you're doing a car with different flares.

Cut out the cast in place dash... then attached the windshield frame and targa top. Finally blended in the wheel flares. (Patience is a virtue Richard )

Again I wanted to use the detailed suspension from the Fujimi 911 at the front as well. Started by grafting in the tie-rod tunnel and suspension mounting points. Then modified the struts as required to fit the 914 chassis. This gave me pose-able front suspension. The stock kit chassis and suspension is on the right for comparison.

Your chassis is a quantum leap over what the kit provides.

I added the targa roof reinforcements prior to permanently attaching it.

Great Work JC, am I correct that HRM will be casting this? I also wanted to say the method you used to make the flairs, using the cutaway body panels for the outer side is a Great Idea that makes it much easier to retain the shape of the wheel well. I am enjoying this build a lot! Chris
