Use fine solder for 1/12 plug wire and paint it a burnt orange color.
Tub Color? USN Dark Blue. AS-8
There are 2 shades of Ford Engine Blue. You want the darker one. TS-15 isn't bad.
The rest is personal preference.
I'm sure others will pipe up with their recommendations and hopefully one will work for you.

I will also be fabricating the wiring looms for the ignition wire! Fine solder, hmmmm... good idea.

Patrick,
The photos after the 2 pics of the 1/24th scale motor in silver are the 1/12 scale parts.

Here is a link that I did on P/E benders. The one I made still works the best vs. the ones I spent way too much $$ on race-car-models.proboards.com/thread/1114/photo-etch-benders also I went to Lowes in the Flooring dept. and found some ceramic tiles with a beautiful dark gray finish, high gloss in 4 x 10 size that are perfect cutting boards or building surface an I dont lose the parts against the color. Two last items I found was a 1 x 2 1 piece of Walnut I use to cut some P/E on its hard wont break or dull the blade or .... Final piece of Hi-tech C/A adhesive equipment is a box ( about $2.00) of Round tooth pics to apply C/A ,for those really small RB bolts I use a sanding stix and sharpen it to perfection and simply toss away after use and re-do when I require another. Precision on a Budget. Chris

With all the tools today from MicroMark (which I needed anyway), I believe the Dino would have been less... but think if I screwed that up! A new GT40 kit is only $99.99... as opposed to $749... and I have never worked in all those media on a large scale like the MFH. This will be a nice intro. If I can survive this, then maybe the Dino will be financed with a sale of all my other kits because I am sure I'll be ready to quit! LOL!

The tiles sound like a great idea! I think I will be rearranging my entire work area for this one... time to rethink the space! High tech toothpicks... who would have thought! LOL! Thanks again for all the input.

MFH has excellent customer service, if you screw it up or the part is not useable they have the ability to get you replacement. So when you gonna start, way too much chit chat 😁

So when you gonna start, way too much chit chat 😁 Well I kind of need one essential element... THE KIT! It should be here on Tuesday and my days off are kind of full this week... I have to deconstruct Christmas and then make another run to the coast. And being as it around 40 degrees here most every day, it's not real conducive to glue adhering or paint drying so... we will get to it. First thing will be to open the box, rinse everything off and unchrome about 5 sprues from what I have been told.

To quote Steve Martin in "The Jerk", "The phone books are here! The phone books are here! I'm somebody!"
The kit arrived via FedEx (THEY DELIVERED ON A SUNDAY!) yesterday and I would like to thank gorf (Steve). It is the Trumpeter issue so it has the Ford emblems on the box. Now just waiting on supplies and tools. I am making copies of the KA-0007 instructions sheets and the instruction manual so I can mark them up as needed.
Next thing after that is to photograph everything and then to rearrange my desk. This is a monster sized kit (really no bigger than any 1/12th project) but I need more elbow room I think.
And I will start another thread for the actual build if you guys don't mind!
Of the five of us with the same build, how are the rest of you doing?

Mine is on indefinite hold, I need to finish up a few other projects first. If the resin motor becomes available I would probably pony up for that!

Patrick,
The pics I posted were of the initial test prints. Production in Germany is still aways off. Having a little trouble getting the size right. It turns out that a correctly scaled (1/12th ) motor would be to big !
