Well done, Joel!
BTW, if you're using the kit decals on your 917, Mr Color 59 Orange with just a tiny bit of white is a good match for the decals.

Ben, As always, thanks for being along for the ride, and certainly for your thumbs up on the finished model. As I said, not perfect by any means, but it's the best I can do these days. As for the paint, I'm planning on going with Gravity paints. I have the proper Gulf Blue GC-108 and their Orange CG-109. I'm not going with the Fujimi Orange decals as I'm planning on this Car: joel

I’d be the 1st to admit that the build isn’t by any means perfect on my part, and a few issues still remain It came out looking great. I don't know where the issues are, but that's the way it is, we're our own worst critic

As for the paint, I'm planning on going with Gravity paints. I have the proper Gulf Blue GC-108 and their Orange CG-109. I'm not going with the Fujimi Orange decals as I'm planning on this Car: joel In my opinion, Gravity's GC-108 is too dark. I used it on a 1/43 917LH and it is darker than the MCW 2064 Light Blue (their Gulf blue) I used on a 917K. The Gravity paint matches the light Gulf Blue used in the 1990s & 2000s. The proper blue for the 1960s & 1970s is a powder blue - a very light blue. I remember how light in color I thought the cars were when I saw them race in the '70s. When I finally get around to painting the 1/24 Mirage I have, I will mix white into the GC-108 until I get a shade I like. Mike

Paul, How right you are. I'm always looking for issues and screw ups of which I'm famous for. I do see things that even my brother doesn't usually see unless I point them out, but they're there. Guess it's just an old habit from my IPMS contest days.
You MFH guys really make my day when you even bother to stop and post so positively in my mostly OOB builds with a little of that and this added.

Mike, the issue for me is that any picture I see on my monitor (which is color corrected every month or so) you just don't really know how accurate it is for any number of reasons. Can you post a picture of both models so I can get a reference to what you're referring to?
