Mike, the issue for me is that any picture I see on my monitor (which is color corrected every month or so) you just don't really know how accurate it is for any number of reasons. Can you post a picture of both models so I can get a reference to what you're referring to? joel Gulf_blues by VintageRPM, on Flickr Car on left is painted with MCW 2064 and car on right is with Gravity GC-108. (Note that, at least on my monitor, the orange stripes in the photo do not look right - too red. In real life, the one on the left is a decal of incorrect color and the one on the right is GC-109.) Great build, Joel!
How did you get the decals to stick to the rubber tires?

Patrick, Thanks so much for stopping by, and appreciating my build.
I use the same method for decaling all types of rubber tires as well as regular or reverse decals. The only time I use Pledge is for tires as it's easy to work with, just thick enough straight out of the bottle, and self levels. I brush the Pledge on and let it dry for a few hours or even over night. Then I give the Pledge a rub with a wet Tamiya 3000 sponge, letting the sponge do the work. Then just decal normally. I use the Micro system and Solvaset. I give the decals a full day or two to dry and cure, then Testors Dullcoat air brushed. I might add a few drops of light tan or Nato Black to weather the tires.

You MFH guys really make my day when you even bother to stop and post so positively in my mostly OOB builds with a little of that and this added. You sell yourself short, Joel. You do really good work just doing a kit OOB. Adding bling to a kit doesn't make someone a better builder, it's the execution of the build that counts. Besides, I only build the MFH OOB. I just have instructions to tell me what bling to add and where to add it. It's just that a MFH kit takes a TON of fitting, drilling and pre-planning to make sure everything goes together correctly.

Paul, Thanks so much for your most kind words. Coming from a MFH builder, it does mean quite alot. joel

Joel!
Sorry I missed this one before. What a great job! Of course I'm a big fan of the GTLM era. This Beemer turned out beautiful!
Thanks, Ismael

Thanks guys. Your thumbs up really means quite a lot to me as it's been almost non-stop doctors, labs, and hospital procedures for both my wife and myself. Haven't had much time to seat at the bench and do any modeling.
Ismael, great to have you onboard. Is this just a visit or are you back at the bench? joel
