Your usual level of perfection my friend!
My only gripe when I built mine wasn't the model, but the car. When you take the body off, everything underneath it is black. The chassis, the Honda powertrain, there's no contrast to it. I resorted to 5 different blacks just to try to get some definition. I'm not a big fan of carbon fibre. And once upon a time, Honda's engines were gold......... That's one of the reasons why I've had this model on my to build list for years, but always seemed to never get around to it. Odds are once I photograph the finished model with the body shell off, it will remain on in it's display case for ever more. What I'm planning on doing is using several shades of Black including, semi Gloss Black, and Gloss Black, Nato Black, Gray/Black mix to kind of break it up some. One thing that from my poor eyesight that has jumped out at me is that CF pattern really can't be seen even in actual photographs till you get close up to it as the weave is pretty tight. So I'm going to go with a CF paint from Gravity instead. One issue that's just driving me nuts is the seat and seatbelts. They're molded as one piece. My Dremel died a horrible death, and there's no way I can by hand remove it. So I'm going to see how I can improve what's there. Joel Joel if you are doing what you do with only one eye my God it's a Dam good eye! Incredible to hear because your work is fabulous. That battle at Monaco was so Epic, the funny thing is that I just watched it the other day - I think it could easily be the most gripping fight I've ever seen in F1 - on those tight streets it was just insane - there isn't racing like that anymore unfortunately.
For me Senna was the King, he was just on another level when it came to being a race car driver, he just knew things that the other greats like Mansel and Prost just didn't - like what type of grip there would be exiting a corner during the rain before he entered it - he was the greatest

Adrian, I have retina disease in both eyes. Unfortunately, the left eye's focusing point on the retina became warped from the disease, so even after 4 laser surgeries in that one eye alone, the only thing I see out of it except around the edges is gray. It's not so bad until I need depth perception to kick in, and we're bi-ocular, so with one eye I have very little of it, and close up things seem to be where they're just not. Fortunately, according to my wife, this hasn't effected my appetite one bit.
My all time favorite F1 driver has always been Jim Clark, followed by Dan Gurney. I grew up following both of them. Mansell is also a favorite not only because he was a truly great driver, but because he had to constantly prove himself, and he did just that.
Glad that you saw that Monaco fight. It just doesn't get any better then that.

Well, it's time for another update. I still haven't clear coated the body shell and parts, but that's on my to do list for this coming week. Instead I started on the chassis, engine/transaxle, and classis plate. I painted the overall chassis a Dark German Gray close to Nato Black but a shade darker. With some light weathering, I hope that it will look something like this: After I painted on the basic CF color, when dry I spent a good 2 hours masking the Steel heat shields that will be directly under the twin Turbos. Then I air brushed on Alcad 2 Dark Aluminum followed by a light dusting of Alcad 2 Steel. Then I removed all the masking tape. It always just amazes me how long it takes to mask anything, but just a few min to remove all of it. Next into the paint booth was the engine/transaxle basic assembly and various parts. I applied a light coat of Mr. Finisher #1500 primer thinned with good old #400 leveler thinner. Slowly I applied various shades of Semi Gloss Black, Flat Black, CF Gray, Dark Aluminum as I worked my way around the various parts of the engine/transaxle, as well as the rear suspension parts. When dry I assembled the basic parts of the engine so that I could add the rear suspension members. And here's a better overall picture of the chassis with engine/transaxle, and basic rear suspension. Finally, I AB'd the radiator side pods a semi gloss Black as they're not formed from the CF mold for the front chassis clip. Slowly work progresses when I have time these days. On another sad personal note, my 18 month old gaming computer just this past week has been locking up almost constantly but ramdonly, requiring booting via the power supply on/off switch. I did a complete Window 10 reinstall, but that really didn't help. Will be doing a diagnostic test on the RAM sticks to see if one of them is failing. Past that, I really don't have much of a clue. Going to take it a local computer guy that works from his home, and see if he can help me figure this nightmare out. So if I'm not around for a while, that's the reason why. I do have a old computer in the basement, but I don't even remember the password to sign it at this point. Joel

Looks great Joel! Yeah, I hate masking and it takes so long for a few minutes of work and then you pull it off in a few seconds. What's really bad is when you have tape bleed after all that work. Hope you get the computer figured out soon. What are you using for steering and foot pedals on your rig?

That's not a very old computer to be acting up like that. Nice progress on the chassis.

Thanks guys for the thumbs up, and computer support.
As for my auto sim racing, I upgraded from a Logitech G29 setup that I had for all of 6 weeks and hated the geared wheel notchiness, to a Thrustmaster TS-PC and the Fanatec TL Elite pedal set with a load cell brake. A huge difference in braking for sure. And the wheel is like night and day. This upgrade had a cost of $700 of which I sold the last of my Nikon lenses that I never use since getting out of photography. Both lenses just sat on the floor in their cases gathering dust. Now it seems that the Photography Gods have put a curse on me as I can't race, just barely use my computer.
I ran the windows Diagnostic RAM test and both sticks are fine. I'm going to go back to ver 1903 from 1909 and change the setting in my BIOS that the D drive when not used goes into a sleep state. Some guys had posted that it cured their freeze issues. Can't see how as it only starting happening 2 weeks ago, and nothing has really happened over that period of time to have caused this.
