So I thought I would join the fun and start on the same kit Paul and Patrick have. Yes it’s the 1/12 McLaren M19A from Model Factory Hiro. I will not bore you with pictures of the box art( which is lacking) and the cover of the instructions. As always hopefully I can do a decent job on this, and inspire those other two to finish theirs 🤣 Chris

Inspiration is what I need but I also could use about two more days in the week. After a week of vacation (in Ireland), I am just now at a par level with my outdoor chores where now it is just a matter of maintenance (except all those Christmas bins that could use being put away. But hey, we are closer to putting them out again than we were!).
I am trying to set aside two days in the coming week to devote to moving to the next step and also to making some progress on finishing the 156. One thing I will be doing is ordering the plexiglass cases for what I do have built already!
Thanks, Chris for the mention! And you are ALWAYS an inspiration!

I thought I would start with the engine just like the directions. After building a DFV in 1/8 on my last build, I thought I would try to emulate it on this one. I painted the block and heads Alclad aluminum, then I used some basic weathering powder from Tamiya (soot and rust) to give it some depth. I should be finishing up the wiring and plumbing in a couple of days, or tomorrow 🤣 Thanks for looking

Great start, Chris! I am sure it will be looking good! Just don't use yellow plug wires as some in another forum seem to get their panties in a wad over it! I have some photos from the weekend as well. It just seems like 8 hours of work doesn't produce much, does it?

Paul, Chris, & Patrick, I'm really looking forward to following a triple build.
Paul, Just an outstanding job on the Ford Cosworth engine. Your weathering just kicks it up to the next level.

Engine is complete. It took a little longer than I wanted, but it’s not like I’m on a time line, well maybe I would like to get it done before October for a model show in Reno 😁
