Thanks Joel. I stripped all the chrome including the engines. Between the varnish coat and the chrome plating so much detail is obscured. Not a fan of chrome in general. I'll get the chain color right on the next one. JC, I'm being way to picky, sorry about that. Your Kart build really brought a lot of fond old memories back. Just for that I have to thank you. Joel

When you know the subject intimately as you do certain things jump out at you. No offense taken Joel. However in my defense I saw the gold tinted chain in this photo and thought it would add a bit of flair. Also were I got the idea for the knock style cap for the fuel tank.

JC, I stand corrected. That is the 1st "Show" Kart I can remember seeing. Those chains certainly are spotless and look brand new, as does everything on that Kart.

I may also have failed to mention my kart is a Rupp Factory Werks effort running and exotic new prototype chain. Now back to the truck, wheels detailed: And a mock-up of what the rig might look like:

My first 620 was blue, the second one was orange, and the last one the same as your build.
You are not nice, I have been looking on craigslist for another 620....or ranger.

Sorry Sam. Ford has started selling the Ranger again in the US - more temptation! Cab and wheels permanently installed.

JC, When I 1st looked at the painted cab, I thought it was supposed to be Dark Yellow, but it looks like a shade of Green to me. My other hobby is Photography, and I do calibrate my monitor once per month via a Color Munki calibration system, so I just ran it, and the cab still looks exactly the same. I then Googled Tamiya SP-3 and I got several sites with chips, all look the same and exactly like your cab color. So I'm assuming that what I'm seeing is the correct color?
In any event, the finish looks really quite good.

The lights above my bench have a yellow tint so the color is off slightly. However TS-3 does have a greenish hue to it.

JC, I feel a whole lot better, as I do spend a good deal of time color correcting my Graphics card & Monitor for photo image processing. Joel

JC, Love the engine compartment, especially the twin side draft Webbers. My only question if it's actually a street driven truck is the lack of air cleaner to protect the engine cylinder walls.
I learned that lesson 1st hand when I got the brilliant idea of converting my Austen Healey Sprite 1275cc engine with a few mods like a full race header that required the removal of the heat shield, and a slightly hotter cam, plus the removal of the air cleaners which I substituted with aluminum velocity stacks. Great sound and even more power. That lasted less then a month when the engine gave out. Seems that when I pulled the head off, there was oil and crap everywhere. That was one very expensive lesson to learn. What works on the track doesn't always correlate to the street.

The 1:1 this build is loosely based on is a shop truck for a Tuner/Restoration shop (JDM Legends) and it has side draft Webers. It doesn't appear to have any special provisions for dust infiltration.
