I have seen screens inside those stacks. A filter they are not, but they do keep the larger debris from getting in.

JC, I see. And you're building a very close replica for sure. Please don't take my comment as a criticism of your build, but rather a personal engine crisis I had because I did the same thing on my only street car. I'm just wondering if they used the truck daily how they stopped all the dust, and dirt from getting into the engine.

No offense taking Joel. It would concern me as well having the carburetors effectively open to the air. The first season of the show "JDM Legends" in on Motor Trend TV and they do use the truck regularly. watch.motortrend.com/tv-shows/jdm-legends/

JC, That's really puzzling unless they just use it on the show and really short runs. But used regularly off the show, eventually the micro particles ingested with the air will cut the cylinder walls and rings to the point of nearly no compression.

Finished grille. The kit doesn't provide clear lenses for the headlights only the blank chrome inserts installed on the passenger side so I had to dig into the parts box for replacements. I drilled out the inner light socket on the driver side and added screen to feed cool air (and dust ) to the Webers.

Thanks Ismael & Sam. It came out more or less how I had hoped. Would have liked the stance to be lower. I think you would need to drop the body lower on the frame to accomplish that however.

JC, Most impressive build for sure. And the Kart just makes it that much more special.

Thanks Joel & Gary. I enjoyed building the kart so much I bought (2) more! I'll have to decide how I want to build them.

Now that this kart is readily available again would be nice to see some aftermarket parts for it: wheels/tires, engine, maybe even some PE pedals.
