Won this kit in a raffle. The build plan is based on the JDM Legends shop truck.

The front of the bed is molded into the cab. Didn't like that so I separated it and attached it to the bed.

The interior attachment to the frame was vague so I added some mounting pins to positively locate it. Also added cleats to the back of the interior and the cab to make for a positive (repeatable) position for the cab. Friction fit interior tub

Looks like a fun project. I used to see these kinds of warmed over mini-trucks on the road all the time, but not so much any more.

I currently own a 2010 Ford Ranger, it's my 3rd Ranger. Unless you have big hauling or towing requirements a small pickup will do 95% of what you need a truck for.

Lowered the front suspension. Removed the molded on wire detail in the engine bay and filled some nasty ejector pin marks.

The kit gives you only (1) steel wheel. I modified it to get a deeper offset and and added lug nut detail. I've asked a friend to cast a full set for me. Early mock-up.

Thanks Bill. I'm anxious to get the wheels & tires so I can finish up the suspension and determine the stance.

Another cool project JC. Those little trucks do come in handy and make great parts trucks for Automotive shops...

Back when I was buying, decades ago, I bought maybe 3 really cheap. It was one of MPCs nicerkits. I wishmore of them were done at these model sites. It offers a bunch of choices, rusty stock, custom, low rider, race truck (Baja or for fun), and many more. Thanx for picking something out of the ordinary kit!

Appreciate your interest in the build. I'm waiting patiently for the steel wheels to come back from the resin caster.

JC, Interesting non race build. Even here your attention to details and corrections really makes quite a difference. Looking forward to your next update. Joel

Thanks Joel. Received the wheels & tires back from R&MCoMD. The tires have crisply molded raised letters on the side wall but I'm choosing to remove them for my survivor style build. Lowered the truck a bunch but not quite as low as I was shooting for but think I will stop here.
