Looking great Ron. The primer almost looks like the finished coat! Well I guess it is a very white car! LOL!

I see I wasn't the only only one that was taken by these. I used these on my version. I polished mine a bit but not to the exent you are talking about Chris, That would be nice to see. I do have a set of the Cox Magnesium, little rough I cannot remember were and when I bought some of this. I collected for a long time time as far as HOW I wanted to finish mine I even bought the engine block R & D offered. That included the carbs, proper intake, I am not sure were I bought the trumpets? Long time ago......

while not a color pic, you can see the interior was pretty much the brown fiberglass used on the tub, here is my fotki album on the 2A-C hope that helps some public.fotki.com/pmodwrks/chaparral-2a-c/ Chris

May I call Your attention to the difference between Chaparrals 2A/2D/2F (fiberglass twin-pontoon semi-monocoque chassis) and Chaparrals 2C/2E/2G (aluminum semi-monocoque chassis) according to the book by Falconer/Nye: Chaparral. Greetings from Vienna (Austria), Martin

Greetings from Vienna (Austria), Martin Yes I think I read that somewhere. Would that mean that the tub would be an aluminum color rather than the brown we are more familiar with? Thanks.

Yes indeed. In 1965 Oct. 10 was the first race of the new 2C, first and fastest lap. it did not start The Times Grand Prix Oct. 31 and DNF (fastest lap)at Nassau Dec.5. For 1966 there was a second alu-chassis and two 2E raced the first Can-Am chapionship.
If You check the Internet there are lots of pictures, but do not believe the subscriptions, those are often wrong. The 2A always showes a brown tub, the 2C always is painted white, the 2A always has air-intakes on top of the rear fenders, the 2C never. The actuator for the moveable rear wing was in the middle of the 2C and off center to the left of the 2A.

Monocoque does look bright and shiny here. Great shot of the car. <iframe width="17.74000000000001" height="25" style="position: absolute; width: 17.74000000000001px; height: 25px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 5px; top: 37px;" id="MoatPxIOPT2_93041206" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="17.74000000000001" height="25" style="position: absolute; width: 17.74px; height: 25px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 823px; top: 37px;" id="MoatPxIOPT2_62822220" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="17.74000000000001" height="25" style="position: absolute; width: 17.74px; height: 25px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 5px; top: 1211px;" id="MoatPxIOPT2_37821044" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="17.74000000000001" height="25" style="position: absolute; width: 17.74px; height: 25px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 823px; top: 1211px;" id="MoatPxIOPT2_13771782" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Those tires sure look narrow though. Good pic, thanks.

A little progress on the C. Got the wheels finished and fitted, clearanced to the body and chassis plate sorted. A quick mock up to check the "look" and stance, not bad. Might have to tweak the stance a bit.
