Rally cars compete in all types of conditions from snow and ice to rocks and sand and everything in between. I decide to make some varying width and offset wheels for a possible gravel spec version build later. - Wheels on the far right are straight from the box
- The two sets on the left are my modified versions
I did some detailing on the wheels as well. A hole can fool the eye to think there is a fastener there. I may add fasteners later.

I prefer these over the 5 lug ones simply because these are 4 lugs, which are correct for the car.

JC, Your custom wheels really look great. I also agree that drilled out holes tend to not only offer more depth, but play little tricks on the viewer's eyes. Joel

More chassis detail. Everything in white I've added.

JC, I'm just blown away at your detailing. The extra effort on the bottom end is really paying off big time.

Thanks Joe & Joel. Since I have most of my build strategy worked out I decided to jump into the gravel spec build. On the right is the car I have been working on '77 Monte Carlo. On the left is the '80 San Remo winner that will have a few different details.

This blows my mind JC. I wouldn't have a clue where to start. And you build quick too.

not familiar with the race car but a super clean build and great detail work. you also took the proper car modeling protocol of starting another before you finish one.

JC, So far they look like Twins. Can't wait to see you work your magic on them.

Work has continued on the 2nd chassis very similar to the first one so I haven't bored you with the photos. Here is the 2nd dash slightly different, I went with a rally odometer is lieu of the stop watches. Added a piece of tubing to the reset knob similar to what they did in the 1:1.

Added square and round rod along the floor pan to simulate door sills and give me a secure bonding surface for the door cards to attach to.
