The tank and straps are amazing Great Job on those. As far as taking pics with your phone, when I needed a new phone a year or so back I looked specifically for one that had a great camera. I use a Motorola Razor with 16.9mp, it takes Great pics but it drops calls like crazy! so I get a camera and a kind of phone..... Keep it up on the GT40 its really Cool... Chris

Did you seal the tank and fill up with oil, Patrick? Does it look like it?

Did you seal the tank and fill up with oil, Patrick? Does it look like it? To be honest I can't tell. Hence why I asked the question.

It's starting to look fabulous.
That's one application where the photo - etch really pays off, the detail is amazing.
Nice work Patrick!

I talked with Mike at MCW today and he has NO idea what caused this anomaly in the paint in two different places... the base color is the Acadian blue lacquer and the spots are dark blue. He hasn't a clue... Photo 1- just above and to the left of the door handle... Photo 2- the roof of the left door... I left them as originals but the color of the dots is blue and not black. The plastic was primed with Tamiya White fine primer and the paint is an MCW Acadian Blue lacquer. Anyone here have any ideas?

Patrick, Most likely it's pigment contamination. Any chance that a very small amount of blue paint used earlier was still in the AB?

Any chance that a very small amount of blue paint used earlier was still in the AB? joel Nope because there hasn't been another color through that airbrush, Joel! Brand spanking new because I was afraid to use it! Silly me, huh... buy a new AB and then leave it sit... but now, I love it and I bought all the correct tools to give it a proper cleaning! Good suggestion though... and if it was that issue, would it have been two spots only? Don't you think it would have been a pattern? Mike was as perplexed as all of us!

Patrick, I've seen stranger things through my years of AB'ing. Could have been just those two droplets that didn't get cleaned out. I thought about it being on Mike's end, but I'm assuming that he mixes the paint before he dispenses it into their individual bottles. Bottle line is that we'll never really know.

Patrick, I'm sure that it will. I wouldn't even have noticed it if you didn't point those two dots out.
