I blended mine with Apoxie Sculpt. I like it and learned quite a bit about by watching YouTube videos. Mine didn't turn out too bad for using for the first time. And I also gave careful consideration before attempting it, but knowing your skills Chris I'm sure yours will look great.

Chris, You're making this conversion look to easy, which certainly proves that your skills are more then up to the task. Excellent job in correcting, then detailing the "pit".
I'm going to order an assortment of rivets and Weld lines as I've never been able to create a series of rivets that look anywhere as good as those do.
Looking forward to your next update.

Thanks Joel, the rivets, weld lines, etc are from Archer Transfers, they are actually resin rivets/ weld lines on a clear decal film, they all come out very nice. I ordered an assortment since they are in Railroad scales and I figure since I build in scale from 1/43 to 1/12 I can use an assortment.. Chris

Man....I sure like that color! It's really going to look good when you get the Black on. That paint looks as smooth as a babies Butt.

Chris, I'll 2nd what Gary said about the Red Poppy paint. Thought that you said you were getting an AC for the shop so you could paint and work during the hot weather. Joel

Chris, I'll 2nd what Gary said about the Red Poppy paint. Thought that you said you were getting an AC for the shop so you could paint and work during the hot weather. Joel Yeah Joel, My neighbor gave me a 5,000btu A/C unit for the shop, of course we are in winter mode now but with my health problems I cant lift it into the spot I want it, Cutting the hole is not a big deal but I gotta find some one who can lift it. Once the hole is cut it has to go in right away to keep the dust out of the shop.. It does mean I will be able to paint next summer though. I bought a portable spray booth as shown in a previous post and I gotta say " BUY ONE" for the $60.00 inc shipping it works as good as anything out there on the market ...well worth the investment... Chris Chris, I'm right there with you on can't lift from back and hip problems. Getting old really sucks. We bought a new smart TV for the bedroom but I couldn't lift the old tube one off of the tv stand, so it sat in the box for a good two months till we bought a new Smart tv for the Den (my wife lives in front of it). When they delivered the new tv, I gave them a few bucks to move the bedroom one to a spare bedroom. Sure hope that you get the AC hooked up and ready to go before the summer. As for a spray booth, I bought one for $75 with the exhaust to window venting, and the LED lights. I couldn't paint any bodies without it. No lacquer or any smell ever in my model/computer room. And most of all, no smell issues from my wife. Joel

It was real nice out today, perfect painting weather, so I masked off the Poppy Red and Sprayed the Black, I thought I had ordered a fresh can of Gloss Black, Ts-14 Tamiya but ..I didnt so I had remembered how my Friend Ron Hall said he got Perfect black paint, he sprayed it with semi-gloss Black, that way any sanding or repairs could be done without effecting the final finish before clear, so I sprayed it with TS-29 and it came out very nice, I have some orange peel on the rear top-sides that was a section I overlooked so cleaning that up will be a breeze..after that decals which are going to be very nice with the gold stripes and numbers....more to come.. Enjoy Chris

Chris, The two tone paint job looks fantastic. I'm particularly interested in how you're going to deal with the hard demarcation line between the Red & the Black. I have that issue as well with my 956 build, and I've so far always avoided anything but a single color shell.
