Ok, slight delay in finishing the decals. these come basically one sheet per side...so when I started the other side, despite clearing them they disintegrated when I tried to apply them...Rats!!So I had to order a new set from DMC in Denmark and I really dont know the shipping time but will get back on this when they come in.. the original set was at least a couple years old and who knows how long the seller that I got them from had them. I am hoping a new set from the manufacturer will go on nicely.. Chris

Chris, Sorry to hear about the decals coming apart. Hopefully, the replacement sheet will arrive sooner then later. One of the reasons I really like using IndyCal decals is that Michael prints them as needed. Of course I have a nasty habit of ordering way more decals from him then I currently need, as I just can't help myself.

Bummer about the decals. I’ve occasionally had similar problems with certain manufacturers. Sometimes even coating them with liquid decal film or Future won’t help hold them together. I do the same thing Joel does. I’ll order decals or aftermarket “just in case,” so I have more than I’ll probably ever use. Think there’s a name for this illness? Cheers! Ben

Joel, I do the same, I now have 5 Binders with Hundreds of Decal sheets in plastic sleeves to protect them.... It is a disease called Decalitis..Sometimes cured by massive amounts of Valium ... Chris

Hmmmm...Vallium is the medication our Vet gave to our big dog to control his diabetic seizures. Worked for a while, but after a while max dose wasn't near enough. Suppose it could go that way with decalitis. You'll probably wind up needing a radical filmectomy. Addiction. Like the size of Chris' former collection and mine...Some like to call it hoarding. I prefer to view it as those calling hoarding are just jealous or really do NOT understand. Maybe Imelda Marcos had some really good reason for wanting so many shoes??? I know I have REALLY GOOD reasons for having so many model kits?

I received the new set of DMC decals from Denmark today, not bad 10 days shipping ... They are different, in a better way. the Goodyear Brumos, Jiffy and others are outlined in Poppy Red so the will stand out a bit better, all the Copenhagen decals are the same sizes, the Gold pinstripes are broken down into sections which should make them easier to put on and fit better. I am going to remove some of the other decals and redo them since the new set looks better. Too tired tonight so I will get going tomorrow and hopefully get them all on and ready for clear this weekend.. I am anxious to get this build finished and move on to a few on the projects that have been on hold... Chris

That's cool Chris. I understand completely about getting an ongoing project finished... I'm in that same boat with the Richmond car. It's getting there though. I'm looking forward to seeing all the new Decals that you got.

Chris, I'm really looking forward to seeing your update with the full decals. You're almost at the finish line, and I'm making almost zero progress this week as life and family just keeps on getting in my way. Joel

Here is the new set of decals from DMC, they re very fresh and the film is very close to the edge so it will require a lot less trimming. I cant wait to get these on, I already remove the other decals I wanted to replace using Scotch Tape, a trick my Dad taught me.. I will put them on today if I feel up to it.. Chris

wow UNBELIEVABLE !!! The difference between the old decals and the DMC set I got the other day, If you are going to do this car save yourself a lot of work and order a set from DMC, the gold striping went on like magic with just a tiny amount of work, I striped a bunch of the other decals off and am replacing them with the DMC set.. Pics in a day or two Chris

Chris, If you're raving about this decals with your high standards, then they really have to be something else. I've been hooked on IndyCal decals, but I could really use another source for the cars he doesn't make decals for. So I'm heading on over to their site to see what they have. Joel
